Alex Unks, a 6’3” sophomore guard from Robert Service High School, has emerged as a versatile and impactful player in Alaska’s Class of 2027. As a full-time varsity contributor, Unks played a pivotal role in the Cougars’ 2024–25 season, helping the team achieve a 16–11 overall record and a third-place finish in the Cook Inlet Conference .

 

Known for his smooth shooting stroke and high basketball IQ, Unks consistently stretches the floor with his perimeter shooting and makes smart decisions with the ball. His ability to read the game and make timely plays has been instrumental in the Cougars’ offensive schemes.

 

Defensively, Unks brings length and agility, often guarding multiple positions and contributing to the team’s defensive versatility. His commitment on both ends of the floor showcases his all-around game and dedication to team success.

 

As he joins Team GBD 16U for the upcoming Puma Circuit session, Unks is poised to make a significant impact. His combination of shooting ability, defensive prowess, and basketball intelligence positions him as a player to watch in the Class of 2027.
